My approach to starting this space was through having my son. Viewing life through and learning about autism helped me realise that there was room for lessening the pressure of fitting into the expected, there is obvious means and beautiful reasons for structured learning BUT also a need of a space for those who thrive without it. Specifically for art and all its textures, bringing in another perspective to having fun.
We have to allow for our children to play, get messy, to express without having to do it to an expectation. Allow time for ‘figuring it out’ and ‘giving it a go’ when it comes to art and expressing themselves through creativity.
That’s my point, there’s room for us too. For those (even as adults, I guess) - who are still finding out feet when it comes to creativity, it can mean what you want it to. We’re all just trying our best - trying to have fun along the way, which is the point. It’s about the journey.
